C.J. Spiller, RB Clemson
This will be the longest of long shots considering backs like Knowshon Moreno and Javon Ringer weren’t even a thought in the in the Heisman race last year, but with James Davis off to the NFL, Spiller has the Clemson backfield all to himself and could come up with a massive season. He was hurt last year and was held to just 629 yards and seven touchdowns (with three against Citadel), but when he was right, he was a difference maker. The offensive line is suspect, there’s a new starting quarterback, and Spiller has to prove he can stay through a full season, but there’s a shot he could make a Ringer-like jump up in production. If nothing else, he’ll be considered among the top backs, and the top players, for the 2010 NFL Draft.778-4753standaloneprod_affiliate74
